Wishlist

The wish list contains requests and ideas for features that might be added in future releases of Birthdate for Pilot. Not every change request and idea mentioned here makes perfect sense to all Birthdate for Pilot customers. In some cases there are even contradictions. This list is presented here to give you a feeling for what compromises have been made so far to supply a piece of software that fits your needs.

Change requests

The following change requests were made by Birthdate for Pilot customers but aren't implemented (yet).

• CR#001: support holidays that are at changing dates every year
• CR#002: use a more unique string then the asterix "*" for identifying events
• CR#004: use "B" for birthdates instead of "*".
• CR#005: Notify dialog should have an alarm option just as the datebook calendar details dialog does
• CR#007: french version of Birthdate for Pilot
• CR#008: show a marker in the Birthdate List View whether the record already has a notify entry or not
• CR#009: datebook notification entries for holidays should cover a whole day or at least one hour to be seen in the week-overview
• CR#010: pre-notification in the todo-list instead of the datebook
• CR#011: Create a conduit that interfaces directly to an Access database
• CR#012: Allow different lastnames under the same address record
• CR#013: put leading zeros in the birthdate list, e.g. 1948-03-01 instead of 1948-3-1 (may be as a preference)
• CR#014: Use a special character that will turn into a space e.g. "Gert.&.Klaus" becomes "Gert Klaus"
• CR#015: Sorting option for Birthdays, Anniversairies, Weddings, etc
• CR#016: Sorting option by lastname
• CR#017: Checking option for changes - e.g. year of Birthdate is known now instead of "modify" option of "notify-all" feature
• CR#018: Use a no-time event and an alarm to allow for just one datebook entry per event (only possible with OS 2.0 devices)
• CR#019: Allow tracking of lists of events like sports and cultural events, dates with customers, product schedules and the like
• CR#020: Use logo 5/17 to show next upcoming event

Further ideas

• Menu/Options/Preferences dialog: allow to select Custom field with a selector/drop down list from the list of custom address book fields
• support global "find" function - but check if string passed is a valid date
• minimize RAM usage and PRC size to make it usable for Pilot 1000
• create PC desktop conduit for hotsyncing birthdate-data
• create PC desktop application for printing birthdate-list
• add export feature to standard formats (.CSV, .DBF, .XLS) to desktop app
• allow entry of birthdates where only month is known, e.g. 6/?
